I don't know if any of you caught the EPMD reunion show this past Saturday night (Sunday morning) but it was crazy. Digs and I were in full effect... rapping along to Mr Cee's pre-show ADD set. Then got to see Keith Murray, Redman, Das Efx, and many others jump up & help EPMD ring in their first show in 8 years! Erick & Parrish killed it... despite having to battle through shitty mic sound... and really made us feel like it was 10 years ago all over again. word to EPMD.
In other news... the HHK staff have a good, and very talented, friend named Dustin Glick.

anyway, i asked Dustin to take a stab at putting the HHK Staff on paper and he came through with the quickness. all three of us got a kick out of this:

it's true... we really saw van's true self on stage on friday night... homie was a record skip away from putting digs in the figure four.
I caught epmd in philly a couple months ago at the wutang/redman/bootcamp show in philly. Red brought them out for about a half hour at the end of his set. it was wild, i was hammered and illegally parked so i left early and missed most of wutang, but it was worth it to see this suprise reunion.
word russ... i was there too. them philly kids didnt even understand what they were seeing.

The first time I saw Wu was Summer of '96 when, to my knowledge, it was still pretty much one big happy family. I barely was into hip-hop (It was Lollapalooza and I went for Metallica, The Ramones and Soundgarden) and their live show absolutely blew me away. They ran around the crowd nailing people with super soakers and having a great time onstage. All of them.
Eh. People get older. More laid-back. Art usually suffers from it, esp. hip-hop. It happens.

wu-tang just finished a full us tour that every member was apart of. they did 2 nights at webster hall in nyc, which every member attended and performed. ghost wasnt at the honors taping because he had previously committed to doing a european tour. fyi, yo.

I saw Wu earlier this year (actually on valentines day--without my girl, ha ha) and it was NOT crap. It was lacking on the Honors show w/o ghost, though. He was by far the livest at the show (probably the livest emcee ive ever seen--including my idol, the Blast Master). He also did a monologue in the middle of the set goin off about the state of HipHop music, particularly the south; it wasn't getting a great reaction from the crowd, Wu fans claiming to be keepin it really real, so he says "I know yall are buyin this shit, dj, put that beat on." the Laffy Taffy comes over teh speakers, a hand full of people down front start cheering, and Ghost flips out! "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!" (pointing out people in the crowd) It was a classic moment.
