"cuz i'm wise enough...

... to know when a gift needs given... "

a big congrats to the winner of our "name that tunes" game, Naim, who correctly identified all three songs for the grand prize of 2 tickets to the upcoming Slick Rick show in February. dope!

and also a big thank you to all of you who came out on friday night to one of, if not our best, edition of HHK at the Knitting Factory. you all killed it. from obscure joints like "rock co.kane flow" to hard performances like "shook ones"... everybody slammed it. including digs.

our next edition of HHK will be at the Knitting Factory on February 22nd. it's a Thursday night ya'll... so we bumped up the times an hour... for all of you who have to be up early the next day for "work". 9pm signup, 10pm show.

for all of you who are looking for the pics... they'll be up on the site on Tuesday (for dec and jan).

sorry for the delay.

peace!

A Thursday night? Geez, that's not enough time to grow a flat top and do Warm It Up Kane :0) What's THAT all about anyway?

Friday night was unbelievable, arguably one of the best HHKs I've attended. Too many great performances to list. . . everybody came with their A game. Lots of fun.

I've got my song ready for February, and I'm counting the days!

Oh yeah. . . "Rock.Co.Kane.Flow" was absolutely murdered. Might as well put that joint back in the vault! Not sure if the whole crowd recognized it (due to the song's relative obscurity,) but it was definitely a highlight reel moment for me. Good shit!

I second that. I couldn't believe Elizabeth picked that one, and I was so glad she did.

shawn j... yea, we don't have complete control over what night's we get at the Knitt... they have a very busy calendar of national touring acts... so we have to work within their system... and sometimes that leads to a thursday night.

i dont doubt you could still pull off the 88 steez you need to warm it up.

Hopefully by then I'll actually be able to say I have to get up for work the next day. Nothing beats a hip-hop hangover at the office.

And furthermore, put Rock Co. Kane Flow UNDER the archives. Some performances have to be recognized for the hot to death rating, and Elizabeth's was one of them.
