Ok. More press. Do you realize we are all semi-famous at this point. I haven't been stopped on the D train yet, but I'm anticipating something. I'm just mad all the potential buns from the night never was acquired due to the crowd leaving so fast, or me making drinks upstairs. Either all we will acquire cakes at a later date
for real though, the audio on the chef kane clip reminds me of blasting the stock stereo in my parents' 1987 hyundai excel GL hatchback when i was a wee lad.
I finally got to see how I look on stage. Weird seeing what I did. Definitely didn't feel how it looked (A-Yo, pause, pause, pause)
oh, and doni, something tells me that you'll be presented with more bun at the dilla party on friday than a pushcart vendor at a stocking depot.
You're very welcome, RDJ. And no, the polka dots didn't help, but that's really just a matter of who was judging you.
You & Axiom brought the crazy, fun side of HHK. When a judge says "there's no crying in baseball, and there are no grass skirts in hip hop," you know that the crazy/fun approach isn't going to get any love. The judges were really great, but it would be nice to see a somewhat more flexible panel next time that can appreciate the wide range of skills that you all bring to the show.
That said, don't regret it. It wouldn't have been you without the hat, and Chef wouldn't have been Chef if he had worn polka dots.

RDJ, every shot of u in the background as Dres did the last verse of "The Choice Is Yours" is so classic. It basically looks like "Fuck if I didn't make it to the next round, I'm on stage during a classic party song doing the ENGINE ENGINE #9 part w/ Dres." Kudos.
It's true, I was quite the joyful boy at that moment.
Interesting backstage factoid: Dres has a college-age son!
Anybody who says there's no grass skirts in hip hop needs to remember 2 classic videos: "Hawaiian Sophie" by Jaz-O and "Operation Lockdown" by Heltah Skeltah.....

Rick is the man. . . he continually amazes with his great photos! You never disappoint!
And secondly, RE: RDJ & Ax's outfits. . .
The outfits were great. So what if the judges weren't interested. RDJ, you're song choice was when Busta was at his silliest, and his most flamboyant. THAT IS WHAT BUSTA WOULD'VE WORN! You represented the song both lyrically, and visually, with perfection. Ax, I've already told you how impressed I was. The 2nd half of that song leaves you with nothing to work with. No lyrics, just background music. . . people can easily become bored with that song. The outfit was very OutKast, and the energy you brought not only kept the crowd interested, but kept them hype. You made something out of nothing with the 2nd half of that song, and that alone was one of the most impressive things I saw all night.
Just think to yourself how many times that song gets cut short at a regular HHK. . .
