It's A Big Daddy Thing...
For these five people that performed above and beyond the call of lyrical duty :
Desiree - "Shimmy Shimmy Ya"
Charlie - "Da Goodness" (MP3 sample here)
Domie - "Funky For You" (MP3 sample here)
Lyrical Arsonist - "C.L.O.N.E.S."
Darryl - "Ebonics"
Again, you have each won a ticket to the Brooklyn Hip Hop Fest on June 24th, as well as the HHK After-Party @ Southpaw that night.

It was a tough call... Desiree had, quite possibly, the biggest reaction ever at HHK.
Domie (I'm sure the spelling is off), did the greatest impression of Smooth B. Ever.
Lots of strong performances throughout the night. The recording went in and out during the evening, but honorable mention to Kevin's "I Gotcha Opin (rmx)" (MP3 sample here) and Van/Goodwin's "Definition" (MP3 sample here).
See you all in May!

Yo dudes, it was a good time as always, even though I felt like my "Southern Hospitality" wasn't up to par of the awesome performances through the night. I feel I kind of redeemed myself on "Definition." Speaking of, can I possibly get a full version of that if it's around?
Thanks for the honorable mention... I'm coming next month with a vengenance to redeem myself. Also, are there any clips of Charlie and me doing Jump Around?
van, yea, i'll hook you up.
kev, i'm sorry, but i dont have that one. the soundman accidentially missed recording half the show. yikes.
wex.
sweet. many thanks for top 5 recognition and the festival hookup. any chance i can get an intro to el papa grande kane?
as for the jump around mp3, kev and i may just need to remedy that situation by doing that number again some day ...
Hey, what up with March's "Turin gold medalist" getting naught but online props whilst April's top fivesome get festival passes?! I should at least get a Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock t-shirt, or something.
Woo-Hah!
(how quickly y'all forget..... sniffle...)
RDjr
aw, rdjr, don't sweat the technique... we didn't have any juice to giveaway in march... but should have some mo' in may... so come ready to move the crowd, and get paid in full.
The price you pay for choosing family in Vancouver over HHK.
this discussion has prompted a random question in my mind - can anyone think of a rapper from canada (other than rdjr)? no google searching allowed.
oh hells yea...
choclair
k-os
swollen members
moka only
encore
buck 65
kardinal offishall
whoa. if they ever bring back that regis philbin game show and i get stuck on a hip hop question, wex is my lifeline. no doubt.
Belding, who the hell is running Bayside High while you're posting here all day????
F Bayside. I've been spending the last few years collecting royalties and burning through that cash at the OTB around the corner.
Ok. I accept the consequences of my actions. I'll come back hungrier.
Not that winning stuff is the point of all this. Sorry to be petty. :)
Nice work Wex on the Canadian rapper list! Also, there's Maestro Fresh Wes ("Let Your Backbone Slide", anyone?), K'naan, and DJ SoCalled (klezmer hiphop from Montreal and my former roommate, check him out.) And of course, Shania Twain.
But you got the big 'uns.

I guess that means, No mistakes allowed?
Daniel.. HHK without you, is like "certs without the retsin"..
And if you know who said that, then you are Canadian offishall (and no, spelling official that way was not a hint).
I had no idea, so I searched it. And of course, it's the Maestro. Nice. He even had a comeback album a few years ago, with a song called "Stick To Yo Vision" that sampled the Guess Who song "These Eyes" --- keeping it fully Canadian.
And Santana Floss, who you be?
Well done!
