Wex posted a hot Rhymefest track back in '05 "featuring" ODB's voice. For those who don't know, he co-wrote "Jesus Walks," and has lyrics that are either brilliant or corny depending on your mood just like Kanye (Except with deeper voice). His full-length drops March 7th and if it's all like this track, expect him to blow up.Rhymefest - DynomiteBig L , as sick as he was, never really wrote "songs" and always rocked the violent thug thing with a wink. Which makes "How Will I Make It" that much hotter. L at his most honest. Classic. Why post this now? Why not? Listening to Harlem's Finest: A Freestyle History. Thanks to all of you for yet another packed house Friday at Rothko! It was a good night all around... solid performances, a good vibe, cute girlies... etcetera. My memory is horrible, really horrible, but I remember a couple of dudes absolutely destroying "Brooklyn's Finest". I think that might have been the first time anybody ever did that one. Also, HHK regs Gusto & Steve bringing the house down with the first ever "Wu-tang Clan Ain't Nuthin ta F'wit" performance. Dope shit...
The pictures from the January edition of HHK will be up on the site shortly, so be sure to check back soon for them. Also, we're doing a whole HHK website overhaul (I know you're REALLY excited about it). We're actually going to try and make this site look pretty, believe it or not... so look for that sometime in the next month or so.
So, I haven't bought the album yet, but I've been loving the song "Shooter" (so has the media) off of the new Lil' Wayne album. The song features Robin Thicke (80's TV icon Alan Thicke's son) on the chorus. Here's a video of the duo performing the song on Jay Leno. Check it out, overall, it's pretty dope. The only thing I keep thinking though, is how much better the performance would have come off if it had been G. Love on the track instead of Thicke Jr. I don't know... you be the judge.
More later.

Am I quoting Redman or Rod Stewart? You'll never know. Regardless, we added some good isht for tonight. EPMD's "You Gots To Chill," Kanye's "Touch the Sky," Gang Starr's "Code of the Streets," and 2 classic Wu songs from 36 chambers: "Can It Be All So Simple" and "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' to Fuck Wit." If someone picks the latter, I better not be the only one screaming. Thanks to AOL CityGuide for showin us love (Again!). We are officially "Offbeat Nightlife" (Offbeat? I wonder if that's a masked pun.) Check it.http://www.hiphopkaraokenyc.com/press/aol_cityguide2.jpgSee you tonight.TAFKA J. New
