Why?

his name is D-Nice.

http://www.d-nice.com/journal/

if you haven't been there... go there.

if you're reading this blog, chances are you already know who D-Nice is.

but you probably have no idea that he keeps himself QUITE busy these days as a sought-after party DJ (i'm talking Puffy parties... not weddings) ... as well as being a professional photographer.

that link above is to his blog. it's updated regularly... and he often shares his journeys in conjunction with some of his ill b&w photos.

he also tends to share some gems from the golden days...

(D-Nice and a then very young Kid Rock)

Freakqwently Asked ?uestions Online

The HHK mailbox gets flooded with literally hundreds of thousands of e-mails a hour. Many of these are asking for Wex's digits but a precious few actually revolve around the event itself. With that in mind, we posted up a FAQ that is sure to be added, amended, redacted and any other fancy editing word you got in the near future. But we think this solves some of the, um, frequently asked questions of us.

You can check it through the "About" section or just click HERE for ludicrous speed to it.

In other news, which album will be worse:

This

or

Best comment in the comments section wins a free Champagne lunch at Tavern on the Green. Or nothing.

See ya on the 11th.

bud presents... the next HHK

what does that mean for you?

well, not much.

but it does mean that we are having our first ever drink special, of sorts:

it’s only $4 for all bud and bud light bottles, as well as their new 16 oz aluminum bottle (oxy moron??).

in new york, as sad as it is, $4 for a beer is a DEAL.

carry on.

Friends..Flowmen..Flowomen..

Lend me your ears...

In the interest of keeping the event fresh and lively, we have removed certain songs from the list.

I cannot emphasize enough that this had NOTHING to do with ANYONE'S performances (on the contrary actually, because some of these songs were done as good if not better than the actual artist). Some of these songs haven't even been done once!

The HHK triumverate meet monthly to discuss all things HHK, and this month we went down the list song by song to see which should stay in the starting line-up, and which should sit out the next couple of plays.

Here is the list :

ATCQ - Find A Way
Eminem - I'm Shady
Eminem - Way I Am
Eric B & Rakim - Follow the Leader
Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good
Jay-Z & Em - Renegade
Keith Murray - Most Beautifullest
Roots - Stay Cool
Run DMC - King of Rock

As always, we are scouring record stores, Ebay, J New's mom's garage, etc for new records to add. We always welcome suggestions, and if you find a record/s we think will make a great addition, we'll buy it from you (face value, though..don't pull any "this record is out of print and cost me $499.99" ish).

That's all for now...

Your friendly neighborhood host,

Josh Diggedy

The Most Beautifullest Thing in this World.

I don't know if any of you caught the EPMD reunion show this past Saturday night (Sunday morning) but it was crazy. Digs and I were in full effect... rapping along to Mr Cee's pre-show ADD set. Then got to see Keith Murray, Redman, Das Efx, and many others jump up & help EPMD ring in their first show in 8 years! Erick & Parrish killed it... despite having to battle through shitty mic sound... and really made us feel like it was 10 years ago all over again. word to EPMD.

In other news... the HHK staff have a good, and very talented, friend named Dustin Glick.

Dustin is the creator of www.dustinland.com

check out today's comic here - a funny take on the fall of CBGB

anyway, i asked Dustin to take a stab at putting the HHK Staff on paper and he came through with the quickness. all three of us got a kick out of this:

props to Dustin. geah.

November HHK date should be announced today. be on the look out and mark your calendars.

Siriusly.

Yesterday, the HHK staff and two of it's devout regulars, Charlie & Axiom, had the honor of appearing on Sirius Radio for the second time.

We got the call early last week to appear on the Cypha Sounds Effect morning show and you best believe we hopped to it.

We went on the air about 10:30am... and held it down until the show ended, around noon.

Charlie & Axiom had a couple turns on the mic... "battling" their brand of HHK against some of the shows callers.

Anywoo... it was a lot of fun... a big thank you to the show's co-hosts, Angela, DJ Wonder, and Emoticon...

We'll be putting up a new "multimedia" section on the website shortly... and hope to have some clips of Friday's show up on there for you to check out. word.

oh, and to keep it interesting... THIS (mp3 download) is the new Jay-Z single. thoughts?

i think it's garbage.
